About Us

On 21st July 2005 the Bulgarian Association of Financial Analysts changed its name from “Bulgarian Association of Financial Analysts” (BAFA) to “Bulgarian CFA Society” (BCFAS). The decision was taken at the last Annual General Meeting of the Society; it become necessary regarding the official changes which the CFA Institute adopted in terms of its policy of unification of all its brands all around the world.

The Bulgarian CFA Society (BCFAS) and former Bulgarian Association of Financial Analysts (BAFA) was established in November 2000.
Since then the organization has gradually grown its membership base. By now it has 61 members from several countries and this number increases constantly. Bulgarian CFA Society (BCFAS) has been approved as the 123-rd Chapter of the Chartered Financial Analysts Institute, CFAI in Apr. 2003.

The main goals & priorities BCFAS pursues are aligned with the major objectives of the CFA Institute and responsive to the local investment industry and society specific needs. Currently BCFAS makes any possible endeavor to perform activities and promote initiatives in conformity with the following priorities:

• Establishment of professional and ethical standards of the activity of the financial analysts in Bulgaria
• Provides readings for preparation and taking the (CFA^®) examinations;
  
• Represents the interests of its members before government institutions, international organizations and companies;
• Establishes and maintains contacts with similar organizations in Bulgaria and abroad.
  
  

BCFAS uses the following means to achieve the objectives:

• Organizes meetings with educational purposes;
  
• Provides readings for preparation and taking the CFA^® examinations;
  
• Represents the interests of its members before government institutions, international organizations and companies;
  
• Establishes and maintains contacts with similar organizations in Bulgaria and abroad.
  

BCFAS direct all its efforts to extend the CFA^® program and CFA^® brand recognition as a globally accepted standard for ethical & professional competence along with an overall integrity of the financial analyst profession. We try to develop our potential and enhance our capacity for succeeding in this prominent and profound initiative

BCFAS also attempts to continuously increase the public awareness among our business society for all the advantages following from CFA charterholder and BCFAS membership achievements. It is intended in terms of both providing investment leaders with global leadership in investment education and extending the networking opportunities with other investment professionals. We endeavor to precisely inform the financial analysts, and other related professions, for the value of acquisition process and the final achievement of the CFA holdership, its underlying professional recognition, and the entailed opportunities to positively influence their future career efforts. In order to achieve its objectives the society organizes different business events. Among our prominent guests are famous representatives of the Bulgarian and international businesses, bright personalities from abroad and active figures in our economic social and political life..
